Frequently Asked Questions

We know that choosing the right senior living community comes with many questions. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about our placement process, care levels, safety standards, daily life, and how we help families find the best fit.

What is adult care and ALF placement?

Care and residential placement is a personalized service that helps individuals and families navigate the complex process of finding the right Assisted Living Facility (ALF) or specialized care home. Whether you are looking for a community for a younger adult (18 years or older) requiring specialized support, an individual with unique physical or developmental needs, or a senior looking for retirement care, think of me as your expert guide. I handle the research, vet the state licensing reports, and match your loved one with communities that perfectly fit their specific medical needs, lifestyle preferences, and budget—regardless of age, as long as they are an adult.

How does the placement process work?

We start with a free consultation to understand your loved one's medical needs, personal preferences, and budget. From there, I research and identify the best-matched communities, arrange tours, and help you compare options so you can make a confident, informed decision.

Is there a cost for your services?

No. My placement services are completely free to families. I am compensated by the assisted living communities, so there is never any cost or obligation to you at any point in the process.

How long does it take to find the right community?

It depends on your loved one's care needs, location, availability, and budget. Some families find the right fit within a few days, while others need a few weeks to explore options and feel fully confident in their decision. I work at your pace.

What areas do you serve?

I serve families throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in South Florida. Whether you are looking for a community close to home or in a specific neighborhood, I can help you find the right options in your preferred area.

What types of communities do you help place families in?

I specialize in finding the right fit across various care levels, including Independent Living (for active seniors), Assisted Living (for help with daily tasks), Memory Care (for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia), and smaller, residential Adult Family Care Homes.

How do you determine which communities are a safe and high-quality fit?

Yes, absolutely. I frequently handle crisis placements. If your loved one is being discharged from a hospital or rehabilitation center and cannot safely return home alone, I can fast-track the process to find immediate, safe placement within 24 to 48 hours.

What is the average cost of assisted living in South Florida, and what affects the price?

Costs vary depending on the location, size of the apartment, and the level of care your loved one requires. On average, assisted living in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties ranges from $3,500 to $6,500+ per month. I help you break down these costs upfront so there are no financial surprises later.

Does Medicare cover the cost of assisted living or memory care?

Generally, no. Medicare is health insurance and covers medical expenses, doctor visits, therapies, and short-term rehab stays—but it does not cover long-term room and board in an assisted living community. Most families pay out-of-pocket, through Long-Term Care Insurance, Veterans Benefits (Aid & Attendance), or private assets.

Can you help us find communities that accept Medicaid or have a Medicaid Waiver?

Yes. While many luxury communities are strictly private-pay, there are specific residential care homes and facilities in South Florida that accept the Statewide Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care (SMMC LTC) waiver. I can help identify which options fit your financial structure if your loved one is already approved or pending.

Do I have to handle the community tours alone?

Not at all. Whenever possible, I walk alongside you. I will schedule the tours around your availability, join you at the communities, and help you ask the critical, less-obvious questions regarding staff ratios, hidden fees, and longevity of care.

How do you handle a couple if only one person needs medical care?

We look for communities that offer flexible rooming options and tiered care levels. Many facilities allow couples to live together in the same apartment while building a customized care plan for just one spouse, allowing them to stay together without paying double for care services they don't need
